John Abraham injured in a bike crash.


A police complaint has been lodged against actor John Abraham for rash and negligent driving after he allegedly banged his motorcycle into bystanders and injured two persons.

The injured persons were treated at a government hospital in Mumbai and later taken to the police station.

John is being treated at the Lilavati Hospital for injuries.

Abraham, a model-turned-actor, was to undergo a series of tests and would remain under observation at the city's Leelavati Hospital.

His condition was stable, said the official, who declined to identify herself because she is not authorized to speak to the media.

She did not reveal the nature of Abraham's injuries.

The actor's relatives refused to talk to the media.

An FIR has been registered against him at Khar police station.

According to earlier reports, the accident occurred accident late Saturday night in suburban Khar.

Abraham, 33, has said he enjoys riding his bike at night when he's not filming, and tries to ride at least twice a week around one or two in the morning.

He has been voted one of Bollywood's sexiest stars in several polls - made his debut in Indian films three years ago.

In the 2004 Bollywood hit "Dhoom,'' or "Big Bang,'' he plays the leader of biker gang which robs wealthy Bombay businessmen.

Abraham's latest film, "9/2/11'' , a slick story of a rich heir's road journeys in Bombay with a stubborn taxi driver, was a box office hit.

One of Abraham's upcoming films, "Kabul Express,'' was shot largely in Afghanistan.

In it he plays a television journalist covering the war against the Taliban.

In December last year, Abraham developed bronchitis while shooting for the film kabul Express in Afghanistan and had to return to Mumbai mid-way for treatment.
